Hussey Copper

About Us
Hussey Copper was founded in 1848 by Dr. Curtis G. Hussey and quickly established a reputation for producing high-quality copper products. As the world’s largest producer with the highest level of expertise of copper bar, Hussey has been a dependable link in American manufacturing supply chains for 170 years. Today, Hussey is a leading copper supplier to major OEM’s providing world-class customer service, on-time delivery, and quality.

At its Leetsdale, PA headquarters, Hussey manufactures high-volume, high-quality copper sheet, strip, plate and transformer winding, architectural copper, as well as copper-nickel sheet.
Hussey’s bar mill in Eminence, KY is the only plant in the United States that can supply rolled bar with a finished edge as wide as 12 inches. The plant is equipped with rolling mills and lines dedicated to annealing, silver-flash plating, and tin plating.

Hussey’s fabrication plant, also in Eminence, produces parts from copper bar, rod, and shapes (rolled or extruded) and incorporates precision technology and expertise at every stage of production.

Innovation
As a leader in innovative solutions for the evolving needs of industry, technology, and society, Hussey Copper has introduced MD-Cu29 antimicrobial copper solid-surface products. Laboratory testing has shown that when cleaned regularly, products made from MD-Cu29 antimicrobial copper kills greater than 99.9% of bacteria within two hours and continues to kill 99% of bacteria even after repeated contaminations. Antimicrobial copper is the only solid metal touch surface material registered by the EPA that can claim to deliver continuous and ongoing antimicrobial action. That means it’s working 24 hours a day – 7 days a week.

With MRSA and other infectious bacteria, exposure could take place not only in hospitals, but in other public settings, and even in private homes. Often these deadly bacteria pass from hand to hand via “touch surfaces” — objects like door handles, push plates, equipment, switches, railings, counters, and plumbing fixtures. By replacing commonly used touch surfaces with MD-Cu29 antimicrobial products, you can reduce the opportunity for transmitting diseases through touch.

You can rely on Hussey Copper for the expertise, materials, and products that you will need for all of your touch surfaces.
